This is a responsible non-supervisory position; Duties include reviewing and entering budget data into AACOG’s accounting software, Financial Management Systems (FMS) for various agency programs from Questica, AACOG’s budget software; Perform reconciliations of excel based budget files against the accounting software reports; Analyze and validate revenue & expenditure activities on program income statements and communicate discrepancies to the budget coordinator; Assisting the Budget Coordinator with various budget vs. actual analysis of program fiscal performance. Assisting the Budget Coordinator with maintaining budgets from Questica (budget software), in addition to maintaining budgets in FMS.

Perform data entry of monthly and annual budgets and budget modifications; Assist the Budget Coordinator with the development of future annual budget files; Provide general accounting support as needed.

Desired Degree/Job Experience: Associate’s degree in accounting or business administration; Or High school graduation, or its equivalent, plus at least four (4) years of government grants management experience (related business school or college course work may be substituted for up to two years of experience); Or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skill, and abilities.

Other Qualifications: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel to include ability to write macros, performance complex functions, and formulas; Ability to work quickly and accurately with numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; Demonstrate ability to use a calculator by touch; Good working knowledge of and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles; Ability to demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication; and knowledge of automated accounting systems; Ability to operate accounting, spreadsheet, and word processing software; Ability to read and write; Ability to interpret policies and procedures, and to analyze data; Valid Texas driver's license or available alternate means of transportation.

AACOG is a qualifying employer for the US Department of Education’s Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).

This position is a Pay Grade 10, with a starting hourly rate of $19.33. This is a non-exempt position. Open until Filled. Only electronic online applications will be accepted.
