Supporting Our Family Caregivers

Caregiving can be a demanding role, often taking a physical, emotional, and mental toll. Our Caregiver Support Services are designed to assist family caregivers throughout their entire caregiving journey. We offer a range of programs that provide valuable resources, including educational training, support groups, respite care, and more, to ensure caregivers receive the support they need.

Caregiver Services

Caregiver Support

If you help an older adult with personal care, shopping, attending doctor appointments, managing finances, or other daily tasks, you are a caregiver, regardless of your age.

Caregivers provide routine assistance to loved ones who are 60 years or older and may be frail, have a disability, or suffer from a chronic illness. Our Caregiver Support program offers a variety of services to support you in your caregiving role, including:

  • Information and Assistance in accessing services.
  • Support groups and training to assist in decision making and problem solving.
  • Respite care to temporarily relieve you of caregiving duties.
  • Limited supplemental services:
    • Health Maintenance
    • Income Support
    • Residential Repair
    • Emergency Response Systems
    • Chore Maintenance
    • Mental Health Counseling

Our program is here to ensure you, as a caregiver, receive the support and resources necessary to maintain your well-being while caring for your loved one.

Long Term Care (LTC) Ombudsman Program

The LTC Ombudsman Program advocates for residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Ombudsmen:

  • Listen to and address residents’ concerns
  • Explain resident rights
  • Support resident-directed care

Many residents have limited contact with the outside world. Regular visits from a volunteer LTC Ombudsman can be the highlight of their day and help ensure they receive quality care.

LTC Ombudsmen are state certified and receive all necessary training, tools, and ongoing support. If you have a caring spirit, a passion for helping others, and a willingness to learn, you can make a real difference by volunteering in this vital role.
